LC Day of Giving

After giving thanks around the dinner table, the Panther family can extend their gratitude by making a monetary contribution by Giving Tuesday (Nov. 29) to ensure future generations of students have access to a well-rounded education.

The college is looking to add to the momentum of last year’s record-breaking event.

“In 2021, we raised a record-breaking $50,833.47 through 147 gifts, which all benefitted our students,” said Lauren Knowles ’17, M’19, Assistant Director of the LaGrange College Fund. “We are very excited to give the opportunity to our alumni and friends to once again support our mission on this global day of giving and, we hope, set a new record for the benefit of our students on the Hill.”

She said the first $10,000 the college receives in gifts during GivingTuesday 2022 will be matched by donors Nancy ’68, H'18 and Dan Durand.

Rebecca Roth Nicks, Vice President for Advancement, said friends play a vital role in helping the college offer the best academic environment for our students. “We are extremely grateful to Nancy and Dan for making this generous matching gift to inspire others to join them.”

“Gifts from donors provide scholarship support, classroom modernizations and athletic enhancements,” she said.

Mark Davis ’98, Director of Development, said this event not only raises funds for the college, but also builds relationships.

“Giving Tuesday is a way for the Panther community to show how much LaGrange College means to them,” he said. “This is an opportunity for us to reach out to alumni who may not currently be involved with the college but still have that connection and just need to hear that we truly appreciate them as part of our alumni family.”

He said alumni offering financial support to their alma mater motivates current students to do the same after they graduate.

“The outpouring from our past students says a lot about the impact LaGrange College has in their lives,” Davis said. “As an alumnus, I think it is important for our current students to see that others who have come before them still feel so passionate about the school.”

GivingTuesday, which launched in 2012, inspires participants to show generosity in their communities.
